The Knockturnal chatted with celebrity skin specialist Brittany Blancato to talk about hydrafacials, what they are, and who she recommends the procedure to.
Winter is around the corner, and during this time our skin is sure to get drier, flakier, and overall decline in hydration. It can be a rough time for your complexion, luckily, Brittany Blancato gave us all the buzz on how hydrafacials will transform our faces. Blancato has worked on celebrities like Teresa Giudice, Paulina Porizkov, and much more. If this is your first time hearing about a hydrafacial, fear not and read below for all you need the facial. Trust us, you’re going to want to run and get one ASAP.
The Knockturnal: What is a hydrafacial?
Brittany Blancato: Hydrafacial is a 3 step solution process using a vortex fusion technology. Throughout the entire treatment your skin is experiencing exfoliation, extraction and infusion simultaneously.
The Knockturnal: Can you explain what makes a hydrafacial different than other facials?
Brittany Blancato: As technology becomes more advanced, mechanical facials are the way to go. Hydrafacial has the ability to reach a depth of an advanced detailing cleaning of your skin that a basic facial via just the hands cannot simply achieve.
The Knockturnal: What is the aftercare for a hydrafacial?
Brittany Blancato: Are you allowed to wear makeup shortly after the treatment? Usually, people are done with the hydrafacial in less than an hour, and no downtime is required. You can resume your normal activities right away after hydrafacial and not like harsher procedures like chemical peels. Usually, there are very few chances of you experiencing redness or peeling, but it’s still best to avoid exfoliating treatments for a few days after the facial.
The Knockturnal: How long will it take to see the effects?
Brittany Blancato: Patients will leave their Hydrafacial treatment and immediately feel a sense of “my skin is breathing and quenched!” And over the next 24-72 hours patients will notice the “GLOW” becoming more prominent, serums have marinated within the epidermal junction and you’re seeing the benefit of the essential ingredients (peptides, antioxidants, hyaluronic acid etc)
The Knockturnal: How often do you recommend the treatment to be scheduled?
Brittany Blancato: In a perfect world the Hydrafacial treatment would be done once a month. Many patients of mine who have been consistently treated are seeing a transformation within their skin. It’s amazing to see and be a part of their journey.
The Knockturnal: Is this treatment for a specific skin type?
Brittany Blancato: Hydrafacial is safe for all skin types and has the ability to be customized accordingly to every individual and their skincare needs!
