Celebrating the Premiere of HBO Max’s “Jesus Sepulveda: Mr. Tough Life” at the Truly LA Taproom

The Knockturnal attended the celebration of Jesus Sepulveda’s upcoming comedy special “Jesus Sepulveda: Mr. Tough Life,” which airs on HBO Max on Friday, August 5th. The event was held at the brand-new Truly LA Taproom in the DTLA Arts District, and was the first comedy event for the cocktail bar, marking the start of an anticipated series of cultural events — from musical performances, artistic experiences, and live shows.

To celebrate the premiere of the special, fellow comedians Jesus Trejo, Aida Rodriguez, and Jerry Garcia took to the stage to perform stand-up material and warmly praise Jesus Sepulveda. The night was hosted by comedian and director of the special Erik Rivera, and culminated in a speech from Sepulveda, expressing his appreciation to the audience for their support, and the years-long journey of hard work and passion that led to this point.
Alongside the comedy, the event was an intimate celebration of Jesus Sepulveda, filled with love, gratitude, and support from friends and family. The Truly LA Taproom contributed to the sunny and celebratory atmosphere with vibrant, colorful signs and furniture, Truly seltzer-based themed cocktails, catered comfort foods, and ice buckets of assorted Truly drinks.
