Bradley Cooper Stars In New Film ‘Burnt’

Cast discusses new film “Burnt” out this Friday.

Chef Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) had it all and quickly lost it. A former two-star Michelin rock star with bad habits to match is trying to make his way back as the best in the Chef world.

The former powerhouse Paris chef is back on the restaurant scene but he’s doing things differently this time. In the past he did everything off the script, and was only interested in the thrill of creating explosions of taste. Now he’s back trying to land his own kitchen and that third elusive Michelin star.

To make his dreams come true he’ll need the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene (Sienna Miller). This comedic and emotional film is about the power of love, food, and receiving second chances when all odds are against you.

How was the food on set?

Bradley Cooper: We were cooking, Marcus created the dishes and then we would have recipes. Then all of the other cooks were people who worked in Michelin restaurants so we were cooking the food and eating the food. We were testing it constantly but in between takes we were eating it.

Sienna what recipes did you take home any recipes that you’re going to cook at your house now?

Sienna Miller: Turbot. I have eaten much more turbot than I did before and can fill it up. I can buy a whole one and take it home and also I can make pasta.

In all the intensive practice is there anything that you learned as a chef, cooker, or critic that you were surprised by or otherwise propelled?

Daniel Bruhl: Well I was attracted to the film because I opened a film myself 5 years ago because my acting skills and cooking skills are so bad. What I learned is that we are very far away from getting the shiny star. The perfection, the level of quality of the restaurant is very different.

Was it hard to pretend to be a critic or was it natural?

Uma Thurman: It was a lot of fun to work with the cast. I had the help of twitter and yelp. The idea of the irritation that the popular demand is superseding opinion.

As the young chefs, try to figure out how their part of the piece. Sam your character is a testament to just how hard they have to work and how much apparent suffering they have to do. Was that part of your situation?

Sam Keeley: Yes. I spent a lot of time studying one chef in particular and just watched him. I learned his story and where he came from, these guys are in it because they’re so passionate and they work insane hours for very little money because they just want to get it right. They love food and the whole thing behind it and I studied this one guy who was younger than me but he was the right hand man. He was a very quiet kid but when he was in the kitchen he switched it on and he was an animal and they’re all covered in burns and slash marks with knives.
