Badgley Mischka Celebrate Launch of New Book

Badgley Mischka has just immortalized their lavish and iconic designs onto paper.

This past Thursday big name designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka along with actress, producer, and political activist Alfre Woodard hosted an intimate book signing in Beverley Hills in celebration of their new book Badgley Mischka: American Glamour written by designer duo, foreword by Andre Leon Talley, contribution by Hal Rubenstein and introduction by Dennita Sewell.

This book is the first volume to celebrate the designs of Badgley and Mischka. Badgley and Mischka first teamed up in 1988 and formed their fashion company, Badgley Mischka. The company made their first big appearance in 1996 when actress Winona Ryder walked down the red carpet at the Academy Awards in one of their gowns encrusted in crystal and pearl beads. From there on the duo was marked as an elegant and luxurious evening dress line. They became the arbiters of old Hollywood.

The pages within the book showcase their much loved skinny beaded dresses, fishtail, ball gowns and cocktail dresses. Embellished modern evening gowns imbued with the allure of Hollywood’s golden age have been Badgley Mischka’s signature voice for more than twenty-five years, and this book is a celebration of the evening dress in all its shimmering glory.

Some of the guests that came and helped celebrate the signing include Dania Ramirez, Anika Noni Rose, Zoe Cassavetes, Emayatzy Corinealdi and Rachelle Gores Fredstone.
