Backstage Beauty Report: Chromat Spring 2018

We spoke with Fatima Thomas, M·A·C’s Senior Artist to learn more about the Chromat Spring 2018 collection.

What is the theme of this year’s show?

We’ve partnered with Chromat for several season to help bring Becca’s vision alive for her show. In the past we’ve done these great, strong graphic statements. The looks have had nice crisp edges that had would remind you of movement or wings. This season Becca wanted to change gears and do something strong but with a little more serenity and calmness to it. This year we’re still doing the strong color and texture, but no more hard edges, things are more subtle and diffused.

What products did you use?

One of my staples is the M·A·C Studio Face And Body Foundation. It perfects without overdoing the coverage and gives you just enough coverage. It gives skin a great glow. I’m also using the M·A·C Strobe Cream, it’s contains beautiful iridescent particles. I use it on the tops of the cheekbones along with the clavicle and the tops of the shoulders so the texture doesn’t just stop at the face but continues onto the body.

What is your favorite beauty trend?

My favorite trend is that individuality is a now a trend. You can follow trends if you want to or you can do your own thing. Self expression is the biggest trend at the moment that I am really excited about because anything that allows a person to be themselves is the best trend of all.
