The Asia Society Museum presented the Asia Arts Game Changer Awards 10th Anniversary Gala in New York City! It was a celebration of the achievements within the artistic AAPI community, and it was also timely celebration within AAPI Month itself, which brought double the joy, empowerment, and success for the community.

The gala started with a beautiful and colorful reception where guests were greeted with Remy Martin sponsored cocktails, and delicious hors d’oeuvres, in a charming sun-filled indoor space, where tall trees met the glass ceilings. We then headed into the auditorium for a wonderful opera performance, with music by Huang Ruo and Libretto David Henry Hwang, whom was one of the recipients of the evening’s Game Changer Awards. The talented and impactful opera singers were even moved to tears as they embodied themselves fully in their performances of “An American Soilder,” and “The Rift.” Their deep dedication and connectiveness to their songs was met with an enthusiastic audience applause. After the performance, we headed upstairs to the dinner program and award ceremony.

The dinner program space had charming round-edged windows, and whimsically decorated purple, and pink-accented table decor and flowers. The delicious dinner was created by Michelin Star Chef, Vikas Khanna. The Asia Society Museum awarded artists in various creative industries, which included David Henry Hwang, Y.Z. Kami, Min Jin Lee, and Sarah Sze. The recipients all gave heartfelt acceptance speeches that spoke about their background, their creative process and their inspirations when it comes to creating their art. The gala was the perfect and timely celebration of the AAPI Community for AAPI Month!
