Artist Spotlight: Piso 21

I recently spoke with the Latin Grammy-nominated group Piso 21 of their upcoming new music and huge success over the last couple of years. The international group comprises Pablo, David (DIM), Juan (El Profe), and Lorduy, each bringing a different talent that creates their unique sound.

In 2007 they started in their hometown of Medellin, Colombia but it wasn’t until 2012 that they became internationally recognized. Over the years Piso 21 has taken over the charts with hits like “Me Llamas,” “Te Amo,” “Mas De La Una” and Déjala Que Vuelva Ft Manuel Turizo. They have collaborated with the biggest stars including Nicky Jam, Maluma, Christian Nodal, and Myke Towers to name a few. They are one of the most versatile groups in the Latin music genre, with over 12 billion global streams. They are both singers, songwriters, and producers, a triple threat!

They recently performed at the Vibra Urbana festival with Amazon Music in Miami where they let me in on a clue on who will be featured on their newest single coming out later this month and let’s say he is known for being a “survivor”. When asked how they felt starting the New Year with two nominations for Premios Lo Nuestro Juan aka “El Profe” expressed.

We are already winners not just because of the award but because every time we get nominated, it’s because the public loves us they keep us on their playlist, on their cellphones they keep us in their daily lives.

They also shared with me artists they would love to work with in the future some on their wishlist, Bad Bunny, Jhay Cortez, Ozuna and Farruko. Could you imagine a Piso 21 X Bad Bunny collab? Talk about epic! With the imprint they have left in music Piso 21 is not going anywhere any time soon they have the passion, the drive, and of course the talent. First, starting in their hometown the city of eternal spring (Medellin) to now becoming U.S crossovers Piso 21 is here to stay.
