amFAR Honors Miley Cyrus and Andy Cohen

The foundation for AIDS Research raised a whopping $1.5 million last night at their 6th Inspiration Gala in New York. The foundation awarded Miley Cyrus and Andy Cohen for raising HIV/AIDS awareness. Cyrus partnered up with MAC Cosmetics VIVA GLAM  on a campaign and has helped raise over $25 million since January for the disease.

Laverne Cox hosted a portion of the benefit in conjunction with event producer, Josh Wood, by allowing guests to text to pledge. This activity raised about $50,000 which Miley Cyrus generously matched later that night.

The evening commenced with various auctions such as signed copies of Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover, a Mr. Brainwash painting from Kate Moss’ personal collection, and items donated from the event sponsors, Harry Winston and Moet Hennessy. The auctions raised about $250,000 altogether.

The evening also featured a menswear fashion show with custom looks made by the world’s top menswear designers, such as Alexander McQueen, Ralph Lauren and Valentino, to name a few.

A performance from nine-time Grammy Award winner, Mary J. Blige concluded the evening with a bang as she sang a set of her classic hits, “Real Love”, “Just Fine”, and “Family Affair”.
