Alice and Olivia Presents Spring/Summer 2019 Collection

Stacey Bendet has a track record of showing the most beautiful designs paired with a carefully designed and curated presentation space.

Needless to say, this season was no different. For the Spring/Summer 2019 collection, she created a Passport to Wonderland presentation that represents women of the world and their vibrant cultures. She was inspired by her travels and wanted to merge her experiences traveling with the world of fashion. Her presentation was divided into different sections, each inspired by a different part of the world. Paris, was represented with a Cafe du Stace section where the dresses were adorned with scarf prints, stripe details and handkerchief hems. Provence was shown with beautiful cornflower blue tile prints to create romantic and whimsical pieces. The dresses were reminiscent of the Victorian era but with a fun modern twist. Bendet also added a modern floral design to a cornflower blue background to make the collection more modern and cohesive. She used this print for blouses, jumpsuits and coats to give it a more whimsical feel. Marrakesh was shown with trellis prince and lace with neon yellow accents to keep it trendy. Embroidery and pompoms are a classic signature of Morocco that could not be passed up when creating the collection. The accents adorned updated shirt dresses to make them fun and trendy for spring. One big trend from this show was red sock boots that were worn by many of the models for this collection. The statement shoe is still trending for next spring so make sure not to tuck them into storage!

The hair for the show needed to match the fun, carefree, whimsical girl that wears the Alice and Olivia collection. So TRESemmé Global Stylist, Justine Marjan created wavy hair with low knotted ponytails for an effortless look. She started by washing the hair with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner to create a clean base. Once the hair has been dried, she sprayed  TRESemmé Compressed Micro-Mist Hair Spray Hold Level 1: Texture and brushed through to evenly distribute the product. She used a gHD 1 inch flat iron to create natural looking loose curls in the hair. For extra volume and length for some models, she pre curled some hair extensions and added those in. Then she used a smooth brush to tease the roots at the crown of the head to give it a little volume, parted the hair down the middle and tied the hair with an elastic. Marjan then pulled two pieces of hair from the outside of the pony and tied them into a knot around the base, pinning it in place. She continued this motion for two to three more times depending on the length of the models’ hair. Lastly, she secured loose strands with bobby pins and backbrushed the length of the pony to give it a perfectly messy finish. The final step was to just spritz some TRESemmé Compressed Micro-Mist Hold Level 4: Extend Hair Spray to lock in the hairstyle. The presentation was also presented by Booking.com, Maybelline, and Kiss Beauty Products.
