Exclusive: Zuri Hall Talks New Podcast ‘Hot Happy Mess’ With A Message To Celebrate In The Middle Of Life’s Messes [Video]

TV entertainment reporter Zuri Hall is moving from in front of the camera to behind the mic for her new podcast ‘Hot Happy Mess‘.

Zuri sat down with The Knockturnal to tell us what listeners can expect from her new show.

“My hope for the podcast has always been to create a space where we can just celebrate our magic in the middle of life’s messes,” Zuri said. “For a long time, for most of my 20s, I was so ambitious – I still am – but I got caught up in this thing where if work wasn’t going the way I hoped or if everything wasn’t aligned and perfect, well then I couldn’t find a way to be happy yet.”

Zuri, 32, is an Emmy Award-winning TV Host who can be seen on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior and Access Hollywood. She says the podcast is centered around self-care, love & relationships, career, health & wellness, and overall how to live your best life, minus the burnout.

“Life ebbs an flows and if you’re waiting for some non-existent date when everything aligns you’ll be waiting for your entire life to be happy and enjoy what you’ve got. So this is about how to infuse our lives every week with a little more mindfulness,’ she said. ‘It’s fun, it’s informative, it’s a mix of real talk with my girls, and then amazing therapists and experts.”

Zuri added that the thread that ties all of her episodes together is that “it’s all through a lens that prioritizes self-care and wellness.”

And for those looking to pursue a career in media, Zuri offers some advice.

“It’s not for the faint of heart. Stay patient, grind it out, be consistent,” she said. “A lot of people start things, but not a lot of people finish, and the race comes – at least in my experience – to the one that endures.”

Hot Happy Mess is made with iHeart Radio’s The Black Effect Podcast Network, dedicated to Black listeners and to amplify Black voices.
