Zachary Levi and ‘Not Without Hope’ Cast Talk Survival Skills

Unwavering faith will help you if you’re ever stranded at sea, according to Zachary Levi and the cast of “Not Without Hope.”

Levi and his co-stars Quentin Plair, Terrence Terrell and Marshall Cook talked with the Knockturnal about their new survival film based on a real life boating incident. Levi plays Nick Schuyler, the sole survivor of the incident and the author of the source material book.

The actors started the discussion off by musing on the role football plays in the film. All of the people in the boating incident were either current or former football players, including two NFL players. Although not a sports film, many of sports themes carry the story, like resilience and teamwork. Plair and Cook, who both played college football, playfully ribbed each other locker room syle on their respective football prowesses on the field, or lack thereof.

The conversation turned more serious when Levi opened up on a core theme of the film: faith. The Christian actor has been outspoken about his faith and spoke in depth about the importance of keeping faith in despereate situations like the one portrayed in the film.

The actors concluded with giving practical advice and some new things they learned about surviving a shipwreck. They did after all film for days on end in the water, so they learned a thing or two. Hint: you might want to bundle up.
