West Village Restaurant LMDM Opens Its Doors

Pastry shop by day, luxurious restaurant by night

On Tuesday, March 22, LMDM, otherwise known as La Maison De Makoto, opened its doors for an opening party.  During the daytime, LMDM is a pastry shop serving delicious treats that incorporate Japanese and French style such as mochi and other pastries.  But when night hits, this shop turns into a restaurant ready to serve Manhattan’s finest. Located downtown at 74-76 7th Ave S (EMPHASIS ON SOUTH), this chic, two-story restaurant hosted about 100 guests, offering specialty cocktails and tasty bites.  On the menu for the drinks was the matcha mule which is grey goose vodka, matcha tea, ginger beer, and lime.  There is also the Watermelon Stinger which was made with patron silver tequila, watermelon, lime, and chili salt.  This drink was so cute because it was served in an actual patron bottle and was super refreshing and had a great watermelon sweetness to it.  The third featured drink was the LMDM Coconut which was made with banks rum, coconut juice, cinnamon, pineapple, lime, and Angostura.  I personally love coconuts and this drink tasted like a less chilled pina colada.  And it was served in a tiny coconut which was super cute.  The last drink served was the toasted horchata which was made with spring 44 gin, kurashizuku nigori sake, genmaicha, rice milk, cinnamon, and sesame.  And a few of the bites that they were serving to guests were a tuna tartare and some edamame, both of which was very good.  And what was even cooler about this event was that singer and actress, Victoria Justice showed up to support the opening of this event.

Overall, the night was a very good night.  There were a lot of delicious drinks to enjoy as well as a few yummy bites.  If you are ever around this area, you should definitely stop by and try some of the food and drinks they have to offer!
