Volkswagen and FAB-U-WISH Partner with The Pink Agenda for Gala

Volkswagen and FAB-U-WISH partner to join in The Pink Agenda’s annual gala, held in NYC. We stopped by to see the scene.

In the evening, in a corner of downtown Manhattan, magic was happening. Penthouse windows aglow in pink light signaled that The Pink Agenda gala was about to begin, an evening filled with hope, success stories, ambitious new goals, and more. The Pink Agenda has a simple but ambitious goal: mobilize and raise money for breast cancer research and care. Partnered with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The Pink Agenda works to find, fund , and partner with people and programs that seek to improve the lives of those suffering from breast cancer. It is this principle that allows organizations like Giuliana Rancic’s FAB-U-WISH effort to join forces with The Pink Agenda and create magic. Volkswagen has also partnered with FAB-U-WISH and auctioned a limited edition Pink Volkswagen Beetle, parked curbside at the gala. FAB-U-WISH makes an effort to enhance the lives of breast cancer warriors by providing them with any number of wishes, from a manicure to a new outfit. It is these types of everyday things that can help someone suffering from breast cancer to feel whole again, to feel normal again. While cancer can cast a dark shadow on one’s life, The Pink Agenda, FAB-U-WISH and Volkswagen are all working to lighten the pressure of the disease.

For the gala, all the best came out to celebrate and fight for the cure, guests such as Ryan Serhant, Tracy Anderson (fitness guru and recipient of the Lisa Mae Lee award), Larissa Podermanski (recipient of FAB-U-WISH), and of course the founders of The Pink Agenda and FAB-U-WISH founder Guiliana Rancic. In speaking with Mr. and Mrs. Serhant (newly married), we learned that it is through mobilizing the young people that the message of cancer and the need for research can be most effectively communicated. “Young people really hold the power for determining where this goes.” Guests enjoyed a spread of food and drinks, as well as a number of incentives and gifts from Baked by Melissa, Body Bauble, Tattly, and more. Nicole Seagriff offered remarks, and Giuliana Rancic and Willie Geist presented the live auction. Hannah Bronfman provided music for the fun and optimistic evening. The quest for a cure to cancer can feel never ending, but the work of FAB-U-WISH and The Pink Agenda seeks to make the journey easier. The oppressive nature of cancer requires optimism and endless hope. To enhance it, its important to celebrate the progress made- and the potential beyond.
