K-pop group VERIVERY, seasoned performers in the scene, has returned with their long-awaited single album Lost and Found, unveiling a sound the group hasn’t explored since their last comeback two-and-a-half years ago.
The album title Lost and Found reflects VERIVERY’s determination to reclaim what had slipped away during their hiatus: time, momentum, and the deep connection with their fans. This new era stands apart from their previous series-based releases, marking a bold reset centered on passion, rediscovery, and artistic renewal. The color red anchors the concept, symbolizing both fiery intensity and raw desperation, tones that extend into the accompanying tracks “Blame us” and “empty.”
Starting a fresh new era, this symbolic project is led by the title track “RED (Beggin’)”, an interpolation of The Four Seasons’ classic “Beggin’,” influenced in part by Måneskin’s modern rendition. It marks VERIVERY’s first group release since May 2023 and showcases the powerhouse lineup of DONGHEON, GYEHYEON, YEONHO, YONGSEUNG, and KANGMIN.
The members returned from vastly different personal journeys, most notably DONGHEON’s comeback after military service and the influx of new fans who discovered the group through Boys II Planet, where DONGHEON, GYEHYEON, and KANGMIN participated. This convergence fueled an overwhelming excitement for both VERRERs and the group. VERIVERY shared with The Knockturnal that preparing this album allowed the five to rediscover their artistic identity, elevate their vocal nuance, and craft compelling choreography that they cannot wait for fans to experience.
“RED (Beggin’)” marks the group’s first attempt at interpolation, a creative leap that highlights VERIVERY’s hunger for growth, experimentation, and musical evolution.
The music video follows the five members in a playful birthday celebration with an unexpected dark twist, blending charm with the track’s intensity and emotional depth. Dive into the cinematic world of “RED (Beggin’)” and the razor-sharp choreography that is sure to keep you on your feet. Watch the video below!
Members who appeared on Boys II Planet expressed that the show reignited their love for performing and strengthened their resolve to return with even greater passion. VERIVERY has also been reconnecting with fans through intimate fanmeetings, describing the experience as deeply emotional, restorative, and energizing.
Read the full interview with VERIVERY and The Knockturnal below, where we discuss new beginnings, new skills, their time on Boys II Planet, renewed excitement, and the meaningful things the group has lost and ultimately found (quite literally), through this comeback.
The Knockturnal: VERIVERY, it has been quite some time since your last group music release. We’re thrilled to finally have “RED (Beggin’)” out in the world. How does it feel to be releasing new music together again after such a long break since your last group comeback in May 2023? Were there any nerves or particular emotions leading up to it?
KANGMIN: I would say there was a decent amount of nervousness, since this album marks our comeback after two and a half years, DONGHEON’s first album after his military service, and the first VERIVERY album that our new fans from BOYS II PLANET would encounter. There were some worries about how we would overcome such pressure, but soon our joy and excitement to be back on stage and meet our fans, VERRER, again took over everything, so I’m really looking forward to this promotion.
The Knockturnal: Let’s talk about the single album Lost and Found, which features “RED (Beggin’)”, a track that seems to draw inspiration from Måneskin’s “Beggin’.” The song is energetic yet carries its own unique “red” mystique. What made VERIVERY choose this single for your return? Are there any special meanings behind the track or its sound, especially considering its inspiration?
YEONHO: We listened to and got a lot of inspiration from Måneskin’s version while preparing for this album, but our title track, “RED (Beggin’),” is an interpolation of the original track by The Four Seasons. We believed that the desperation portrayed in the original song would express what we wanted to convey through this album.
YONGSEUNG: In addition, I think the fact that we tried interpolation for the first time through “RED (Beggin’)” also holds a significant meaning. We wanted to show that VERIVERY is still growing and ready to show improvement even after a hiatus of two and a half years by taking on new challenges and music styles.
The Knockturnal: The concept photos for this comeback are striking, deep reds and bold visuals that present a more intense side of VERIVERY. What did each member enjoy most about preparing for this release, and what are you most excited for fans to finally see?
DONGHEON: Since our title track, “RED (Beggin’),” is an interpolation of “Beggin’” by The Four Seasons, we tried different attempts by comparing our song to the original, and I really enjoyed the process. It was a time for us to discover our own style while trying to copy the original track, allowing us to evolve further. Also, I think our new choreography came out great with sentimental vibes, so I can’t wait to share it with fans.
YEONHO: I think we focused most on the recording process to make sure we’re showcasing a more mature and relaxed vibe as a group in their seventh year.
KANGMIN: I truly enjoyed the pressure and excitement that came along with the album preparation process after a while, because I haven’t felt that for a long time and we really wanted to prove ourselves with this album. The parts I could not wait to share with fans were how cool we looked as a group and how much each member improved.
The Knockturnal: With the single album titled Lost and Found, what message does that name carry?
GYEHYEON: Our album title, Lost and Found, conveys what our members want to achieve through the album. It can also be interpreted as a ‘place you go when you lose something,’ or quite literally, ‘rediscovering something that was lost.’ It represents our desire to regain things that we lost during the hiatus.
The Knockturnal: Previously, you explored themes through the various Round EPs and the Liminality series, so what does this new era represent for VERIVERY? Are there specific ideas or feelings you hope to express?
DONGHEON: I believe you could probably tell from the album title that it’s not part of a particular album series, like SERIES ‘O’ or Liminality albums. We wanted to separate it from a series to focus more on our determination for a comeback as VERIVERY and pursue the activities again after a hiatus.
YONGSEUNG: This album contains the lost time during our hiatus, the fans we could meet during that time, and our desperation and desire to regain all the lost things. We had a big regret of not being able to present new music to our fans for the last two and a half years, and we look forward to resolving this regret and continuing our journey as artists through this album.
The Knockturnal: For a fun twist on Lost and Found ~ what is something each of you has literally lost and then found again recently?
KANGMIN: I tend to lose my AirPods often, but I usually end up finding them again shortly after I lose them.
The Knockturnal: RED is a key color in this comeback. What does “red” symbolize within the context of your new release and this era for VERIVERY?
GYEHYEON: Red is usually described as a color of passion. I think that could be connected to our passion while preparing for this comeback, as well as our love for music and fans, which we tried to convey through this album.
YEONHO: In addition, the fact that red is often used as a color to warn of danger could be connected to the theme of Lost and Found. I think the color red could be interpreted as a warning for the desperation that we tried to convey through this album, and obsession or boldness to rediscover lost things.
The Knockturnal: Members DONGHEON, GYEHYEON, and KANGMIN recently appeared on the K-pop survival program Boys II Planet. Returning to group activities after that experience, how did it influence your approach to this comeback? Were there any new insights or lessons you brought back as seasoned idols participating in the show?
DONGHEON: I actually got to participate in the program soon after my military service, so at first, I had some worries about whether I could get back to the idol version of myself soon after my return. Thanks to GYEHYEON and KANGMIN, two members who participated in the program with me, and other contestants on the show, I was able to adapt quickly and enjoy the process. Also, it reignited my passion for music and performances, which I could portray in this album too.
GYEHYEON: I think it was an opportunity for me to look back at how much I love dance and singing. During the hiatus, we didn’t have many chances to be on the stage. However, by being on BOYS II PLANET, I was able to prepare performances after a while and I felt grateful to be able to meet fans and share my performance with them. It once again strengthened my wish to continue being on the stage.
KANGMIN: Through BOYS II PLANET, I was able to think a lot about passion. There were many contestants on the show, including trainees who hadn’t debuted yet and experienced idols who came to the show after continuing activities, just like us. But we all gave our best before stepping onto the stage, and the process of practicing and preparing performances with them inspired me to feel more passionate.
The Knockturnal: Speaking of appearances, VERIVERY has been reconnecting with fans through your fanmeeting tour in cities like Hong Kong, Seoul, and the upcoming Tokyo stop (at the time of writing). How has it felt to meet fans again ahead of this release? Any memorable moments from the tour so far?
GYEHYEON: It took us a long time to make a comeback, so I was very happy to meet them and show our gratitude to our fans before the comeback. I think the most memorable moment would be when we did encore stages, because I felt so happy to connect and enjoy the stage with VERRERs very closely.
YONGSEUNG: To me, the moment of getting on the stage and meeting fans again after a long hiatus felt like a moment of encountering bright light after a long, dark tunnel. It truly felt dreamy to hear their cheers from the stage.
The Knockturnal: And while we’re on the topic of fanmeetings, can fans expect more appearances in other parts of the world? Any dream destinations you hope to visit?
DONGHEON: I was in the military when the other members performed at the KOREA WOCHE event in Germany. They later told me that they had so much fun, so I want to perform with my members in Europe one day.
GYEHYEON: It’s really hard to choose one place as many VERRERs are waiting for us in various regions, so I’d like to visit wherever VERRERs are!
YONGSEUNG: We’re trying hard to visit VERRERs in more varied places. I would like to fly anywhere VERRERs are, without a specific city in mind.
The Knockturnal: VERIVERY fans are excited to know what’s next. As we approach the end of 2025, what does this new era represent for VERIVERY? Are there any goals or milestones you’re hoping to achieve?
YEONHO: Since this album marks our first step to break out of a long hiatus and continue our journey as artists, it holds the meaning of ‘new beginning.’ We, as well as our fans, have waited for a long time, so we look forward to sharing a new version of VERIVERY through this album, so our fans can raise their expectations on how much we will improve moving forward.
YONGSEUNG: If I were to choose a short-term goal, it would be winning first place on a music show. I think it would be great to achieve that goal for our comeback after a hiatus and to share joy with our fans. As for the long-term goal, I hope VERIVERY stays active for a long time with many promotions and activities, so that we can showcase better music and cool performances to our fans.
The Knockturnal: Lastly, could you share a message for your fans to close out our conversation? Thank you, VERIVERY!
DONGHEON: First of all, thank you, VERRERs, for waiting for a long time. We really worked hard on Lost and Found after a long hiatus, so I hope you all enjoy listening to it, and please continue sending much love and support for VERIVERY’s upcoming activities!
