V Files Fall/Winter 2015 Presentation

V Files organized a presentation to show off their fashion selections for the Fall/Winter 2015 season.

The exhibition was held at The V Files Store located in Soho, New York and it involved a variety of relatively popular brands that have capitalized on various celebrity backings. These brands include Andrea Jiapel Li, Sam MC, Lucid, Julia Seeman, ASSK, Discount Universe, and the V Files brand.

Getting into detail and the different brands, Andrea Jiapel Li’s line was presented first. It was stated that the movement of sound inspired the line. This womenswear collection saw a series of oversized ensembles with “You Never Know” imprints on the sides. The addition of mesh and neoprene to materials to the structure of the pieces reminded us of Alexander Wang’s collaboration with H&M.

Next up was Sam MC. A London based graphic designer who works with Givenchy, Sam’s collection saw Unisex Street wear clothing. The clothing featured mostly black and red with very Givenchy like graphic images. Following Sam MC, was menswear brand, Lucid. The particular collection that was being showcased was their first ever collection. This selection was comprised of very colorful T Shirts and hats in white, pink and blue. The star piece was a milkman alien faced T-shirt which incorporated white, blue and pink and black. The collection seemed to be best suited for the spring and summer. It was very detailed yet simplistic and straightforward.

The next brand was Julia Seeman whose collection mostly consisted of denim. It was very hip and edgy and featured lots of grey’s and blues with a touch of red. Very detailed and elaborate. Continuing this theme of elaboration was international brand, Discount Universe. The brand’s collection is very detailed and diverse. It incorporated a series of sequins, pop art, and multi-dimensional colors. The collection seemed like it catered to very colorful and animated women. The garments are hand sewn and made in Bali. Some of the pieces in the collection have been worn by pop star, Miley Cyrus.

The last two brands that were presented were ASSK and the V Files Brand. The ASSK brand is inspired by car culture. Uber and Americana if you may. The pieces stressed a lot of logos while featuring colors like blue, red and white. Similar to what a racecar driver would wear. The V Files brand was quite similar as well with its sports wearinspired collection. All of the ensembles came in sets and in a variety of colors.

Collectively, the selections at V Files can be labeled as daring. This insinuates a very diverse and exciting fall/winter season for the brand.
