TRAPSTAR LONDON NYFW SS26

On Tuesday night we closed out NYFW SS26 with Trapstar London’s Redline show in Brooklyn. For the past two years, Trapstar founders Mike, Lee & Will have been working on this collection, but halfway through, their mentor, friend and designer Nico Kubisch passed away pivoting the vision. Nico was a core part of Trapstar, one of their head designers and led the Redline team. Redline is Trapstar’s premium collection and was first shown in New York City in 2015 and after a 10-year hiatus it’s been brought back. Nico was working on it’s return before his passing, and to honor their late friend, Trapstar founder’s Mike, Lee and Will ensured the collection and show were both completed. New York is where Redline debuted 10 years ago so it only felt right for the founders to continue Nico’s legacy by bringing the show back to where it all began.

Redline is heavily influenced by Samurai culture and inspired by honor, integrity and the anonymity within brotherhood. Trapstar has included the latest adaptation of the Shuriken style integrated into their logo for this collection. The distressed and weathered details are meant to represent the wisdom that comes with time and experience. Redline was handmade in Italy and reflects the highest form of craftsmanship intersecting with the raw energy of streetwear.

Trapstar London had a star-studded audience including Fabolous, Ne-Yo, Sauce Gardner, Pardison Fontaine, Stunna Sandy, and KidSuper’s Colm. Not only that, this show marked Love Island Pepe Garcia’s NYFW runway debut as he walked the show.
