In ancient Greece, running in the Olympic games was considered an honor for those with long-lasting agility and strength. Today, running is perceived as one of the most intense and competitive sports in the Olympic games.

Yet, the 2nd Annual TrackTown Summer Series hopes to break the stigma between running and fun, by inviting families and fans to cheer on Olympic athletes such as Matt Centrowitz, Phyllis Francis, and many more as they compete for their home states.

With award-winning general managers; Alyson Felix, Sanya Richards-Ross, and Nick Symmonds, four teams compete at Ichan Stadium on Randall’s Island in New York, for the title of Champion of the 2017 TrackTown Summer Series.

The teams hail from all parts of the country including Portland, San Francisco, New York, and Philadelphia to compete in trials similar to tracks found in the Olympic games.

“I like that it’s so family friendly,” said Omar Craddock, the Triple Jump runner for the San Francisco Surge. “The kids and their parents can be right next to the track, and I can interact with them as I compete.”

Fans come for fun, beer, and racing as they get the unique opportunity to race alongside many of their favorite athletes. Families and friends can experience the action while participating in the action.

As a way of combining family-friendly fun into the sport of Track & Field, TrackTown USA creates a way for home states to participate in the sport along with the athletes they are cheering for.
