The time has finally come for the merc with the mouth and our favorite hairy mutant to reunite on screen together since 2009 for what’s to be the MCU’s Summer blockbuster (which has already broke records for an R rated film).
Here Are my Top 10 Reasons Why:
1. Comedy
We get to see Deadpool and Wolverine in their comic accurate garb, beating and slashing the shit out of each other and other bad guys and variants.
2. MORE DEADPOOLS!
We get to see pretty much every Deadpool that has ever existed including Lady Deadpool, Deadpool 2099, Headpool, Kidpool and our favorite ugly mutt, Dogpool.
3. The TVA on the Big Screen!
We get to see Wunmi Mosaku reprise her role as B-15 being a bad ass bitch boss and letting everyone know who’s in charge…LOVE her! Dear Kevin Feige, don’t forget about her for your upcoming projects, pretty please with sugar on top.
4. Cassandra Nova (played by Emma Corin) is in it!
For those of you who don’t know who she is, she’s Charles Xavier’s evil twin that he killed in the womb (or so he thought). Her level of evil is by far the most twisted for any Marvel villain (she skinned the Human Torch alive with a swipe of her hand).
5. Chris Evans as Human Torch!
Chris is back but as Johnny Storm. Though his screen time was short due to budget constraints (as per Deadpool in the film), it was great to see him again in an MCU film.
6. GAMBIT!
Yes, we finally get Channing Tatum in a comic book accurate costume with playing cards, energy imbued bo staff and that sexy Cajun accent that Channing struggles with (i think it was on purpose).
7. Wolverine’s favorite daughter is back and a little grown up!
Dafne Keen reprises her role as X-23 but she’s older and more vicious (if you can even imagine that). We got to see her wreck a bunch of Cassandra Nova’s henchmen and it was awesome!
8. O.G. Blade!
Yes, Wesley Snipes LIED to us (cuz he was legally bound to) and shows up as Blade and even takes jabs at the current MCU/Blade project. Can we just keep Wesley?
9. Elektra (played by Jennifer Garner) is back, too!
I think I was the only fan of the Elektra film and was so happy to see her again as our favorite Greek demi-goddess assassin. She even pokes fun at Ben Affleck, I mean Daredevil (wink, wink).
10. It’s the ONLY MCU film coming out this year!
So, if you’ve been hankering for some IMAX screen superhero action, this is the film to watch!
