The WOOD Silverlake Hosts Delicious Tasting

When choosing a lunch spot, you might consider a couple things: a nice vibe, good food, etc. For future reference, keep the WOOD in mind.

It’s a gorgeous Italian restaurant located in Silverlake.

As soon as you walk in the place, you can feel the Italian atmosphere, from the big wood fire grill to the subtle interior design cues. You instantly get a sense that if they put this much care into the architecture, then the food must be amazing. Spoiler alert: it was!

We ordered a couple of dishes. For starters we did the Crispy Brussels Sprouts (pomegranate gastrique, tahini, and toasted sesame) and Caprese salad (baby heirloom tomatoes, creamy burrata, pesto, balsamic glaze, house-made crostini). These dishes were a great start to what would be a wonderful meal.

The entrees consisted of a ton of pizza; one wood fired chicken pizza topped with broccoli and smoked mozzarella and the other (which was my personal favorite) was the WOOD’s signature: Khachapuri (gondola pizza topped with mozzarella, feta cheese, butter, and egg).

All of the food was great but what really sealed the deal was the dessert. The Multi-Layered Honey Cake (made by the owner’s mom) was simply fantastic. It’s true what they say, “mama knows whats best.”

All in all, 5 stars across the board.
