“It’s important to us that when filmmakers submit to us, they know that their movies can be bought and sold here – you have a real chance of taking your film to next level,” Beard explained and that was precisely the energy that followed throughout the rest of the weekend. Filmmakers felt the genuine appreciation of their craft and while attendees worked as hard as they played, the ultimate prize was knowing that their work had been respected and could potentially spring them to an even bigger audience.
