Director Michael Chaves Talks ‘The Nun II’

Following the 2018 box office hit The Nun, this film marks the ninth installment in the Conjuring Universe.

Taking place following the events of the last one, it follow a french boarding school esupernatural activities. After seeing a vision of her friend Frenchie, who now works at the school, asking to save her, Sister Irene heads over to help send the demon back to where it came from.

Taissa Farmiga returns as Sister Irene, and also stars Jonas Bloquet, Storm Reid, and Bonnie Aarons (reprising her role as Valak). The Nun II was written by accaimed horror writers Akela Cooper, Ian B. Goldberg, and Richard Naing.

Last week we had the pleasure of speaking with Director Michael Chaves, (The Curse of La Llorana, The Conjuring 3) of the highly anticipated sequel to hear what it was like to work with Taissa Farmiga and Bonnie Aarons, both of which he said were a pleasure to work with.

Towards the end of the interview, Chaves shared with us his experience shooting some of the scenes in a real haunted church and exploring the French Catacombs, “The entire time, you’re thinking nobody maintains this — it can collaps at any time!”

The Nun II is now in theaters.
