The McKittrick Hotel, Home of Sleep No More Presents The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart

The McKittrick Hotel, home of the infamous interactive theater experience Sleep No More has added a new attraction to its lineup—the National Theater of Scotland’s play and Drama Desk Award-winning production of The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart.

Like Sleep No More, the play is an immersive experience. It’s an intimate affair, taking place in the hotel’s Club Car bar. Audience members are transported into Prudencia’s world as the actors sing, dance and act between tables and chairs. Music fans are also in for a treat as the play features live folk music throughout.

The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart is equal parts captivating and thought provoking. It will leave you asking questions like, where do we actually go after we die? Even if existentiality isn’t your thing, you will leave the play humored, or as The New York Times describes, “in a state of happy intoxication.” Adding to the play’s praise, Prudencia Hart was extended three times due to popular demand when it first came to the McKittrick in 2016-17—so make sure to check it out while you still can in 2023.

In addition to the play, guests can visit The Gallow Green, The McKittrick’s rooftop garden bar and restaurant. Set to re-open on Earth Day, April 22nd, visitors will be transported to a botanical oasis filled with flowers, hanging vines and greenery, perfect for enjoying the spot’s handcrafted cocktails and unique seasonal menu.

Performances of The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 PM, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 7 PM in addition to a Saturday matinee at 2 PM.

Don’t wait to get your tickets—the play is running exclusively until April 30th.
