The Kollection Puts on ‘Chosen Family,’ An Extraordinary Showcase in LES

I swear I spent the evening with the coolest people in all of New York City.

On Friday May 10th, the live capture series makes its way to the Bowery’s very own music and performance venue, Silver Lining Lounge.

Curated by acclaimed nightlife savants, The Kollection apace with TAO Group Hospitality, Chosen Family is a one-of-a-kind experience. From the fashion to the guests, the attendees alone are enough to make this night one of particular interest.

Executive producers Kian McHugh and Brooks Hudgins lead the revelry with flair, by constructing a contagious energy in the room as they kick off the night. Hudgins, who also serves as the frontman of the house band, Private Browsing, is beyond riveting and quite frankly belongs on stage.

Comedy Cellar’s Matt Richards loosens up the audience with a brazenly cheeky set earlier on in the evening. Plus, Private Browsing, along with EMELINE, and The Thing, capture the minds and souls of the crowd with transportable musical performances.

Chosen Family is a truly entertaining and lively event but more than that, it’s a space of community. Everyone in the room just seems like they belong there, and their presence is not just acknowledged but welcomed.

By the end of the show, the crowd has completely migrated to the front of the stage. Guests are up on their feet, freely singing, dancing, and existing in unison to the stranger next to them.
