The Dry Challenge X Pedal House Cycling Class

We are almost two weeks into #NoDrinkNovember and Hilary Sheinbaum has a whole lot to share about how to “lose the booze.” To celebrate, Pedal House hosted The Dry Challenge with a cardio intensive cycling class that made sure you put in the work!

The cycling class was hosted by Punch Pedal’s Joey Foley and co-hosted by Hilary Sheinbaum, author of  The Dry Challenge: How to Lose the Booze for Dry January, Sober October, and Any Other Alcohol-Free Month. No-Drink-November was honored by the studio with delicious non-alcoholic beverages courtesy, Gruvi and Sovi.

The class started with a show of hands of those who have been sober this month, despite this being a low number, it was then reinforced that cutting the booze out would mean a greater ability to live a healthier lifestyle. Whether it be waking up at 5am and exercizing or simply being able to stick to a routine and feeling good. It’s a lifestylethat’s easy to adopt and once you start, it’s hard to go back.

People Magazine called the book ‘The definitive guide to giving up booze.’ Where drinking a glass of beer or wine to unwind becomes a part of every day life and routine, it may be hard to imagine breaking away from it. But as the book explores, taking a break from drinking (even for a month) can be extremely life changing!  As stated in the foreword, the benefits range “from losing weight, to saving money, to sleeping better at night, the overall health and mental gains of going dry for a month are endless.”

In The Dry Challenge, you’ll:

  • Discover the health, mental, and financial benefits of living a month without booze
  • Learn how to combat social pressures from our current drinking culture
  • Find fun non-boozy activities everyone can participate in (including making delicious “zero-proof” drinks and throwing the best nonalcoholic shindigs)

Kicking off from that motivation, the energy in the class was contagious with loud music and dim lights that kept you pedalling and grooving.  Imagine how much better that would feel if there was no toxins from alcohol fighting to be sweat out? We can take a calculated guess and say, a whole lot better!

The Dry Challenge is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, IndieBound, Bookshop | HarperCollins.
