The Backstreet Boys Are Back and Performed Live On NBC’s ‘Undateable’

Backstreet Boys are here to stay and talks possible tour with the Spice Girls as well as their ninth album.

NBC’s comedy series Undateable brought The Backstreet Boys back together for a live performance Friday night (January 29). The vocal group performed throwbacks such as “Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely,” “Larger Than Life” and “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).” The group also sung “I Want It That Way” to a scripted sing-along during the episode titled “The Backstreet Boys Walk into a Bar.” As they wrapped up season 3 of Undateable, the show decided to continue with beginning and ending each episode with a live musical performance.

According to an interview with Billboard, singer Howie Dorough talked about the process behind their new album and a possible tour with the Spice Girls.

“We would love to do a tour with the Spice Girls. I’ve been in touch with Mel B because we saw her at America’s Got Talent when we performed almost two years ago. She came up to us and said, ‘We should definitely go on tour together,’ and we said, ‘Absolutely, we’d love to,’ because we both came out at the same time and already did some shows together in Europe,” said Howie.

Under a new management of Ron Laffitte, the group is looking forward to releasing their new single this summer and their ninth album by the end of this year.

To add to The Backstreet Boys reappearance for 2016, the group has reported an altercation with singer/rapper Drake for his song “Hotline Bling.” According to the group and AccessHollywood, the band believes that his song is too similar to their song “The Call.” The boy band tweeted “Not to cause any beef @Drake, but before there was Hotline Bling… there was The Call.” Check out more of that story here.
