Taste of Pluto Lead’s Singer Navy Talks Debut Single, ‘Scorpio’s Letter’

The Caribbean hip hop collective, Taste of Pluto have released their highly anticipated debut single, ‘Scorpio’s Letter’.

The deeply passion-filled song was sung by lead vocalist, Navy of the talented trio. While other singles have been released prior to get the buzz going, this particular song truly embodied the theme of their EP which is soon to be released in the Fall.

The eclectic group is comprised of three stars, each from different areas in the Caribbean. Navy comes from the beautiful isle of Dominica while Marwin and Tyler hail from Barbados with ties to Sweden and Philadelphia as well. With the diversity of members comes a fusion of music, at times combining two to three different genres. “We do a lot of old school influence brought out in a modern way of delivery. We do dub style, we do rap, we do everything,” states Navy.

‘Scorpio’s Letter’ arrives at the perfect time to create a feel-good vibe and promote acceptance. With the ever-increasing racial tension worldwide in combination with a global pandemic, Taste of Pluto strives to promote positivity and acceptance, “we were like you know what, let’s create feel-good music that everyone can appeal to. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you are, where you’re from, you can identify with this type of music,” explains Navy.

The authentic group, daring to push the boundaries of music has set their eyes on collaborating with legendary pioneers such as Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Outkast, Lauryn Hill, Talib Kweli and many more. It is clear that the collective has pulled inspiration from these musical geniuses and collaboration would be an incredible way to honor those that passed the torch.
