Target NYFW Tailgate on the High Line

As August melts into September, another NYFW has come and gone. And don’t ask me where the time went, because I don’t know. To chase away my summer blues, the most fashionable and influential of New York flocked to Target’s NYFW Tailgate on the High Line. For a place I often run to at 11 p.m. in sweatpants because I just ran out of moisturizer, Target sure knows how to throw a party. Think fashion show meets tailgate meets dance party, set against the glimmering new developments of the West Side.

Attendees were treated to next-level spreads of savory and sweet treats, including a pickle stand serving pickles on a stick, which paired surprisingly well with a glass of Prosecco. The evening’s entertainment included energetic performances by a marching band and dance troupe that made even the most reserved guests want to get up and groove. Suki Waterhouse graced the stage with Jane. on guitar for a fun yet intimate performance. Yes, she did play “Good Looking,” and yes, I nearly cried.

But of course, the highlight of the event was the fashion show, showing off Target’s newest collection. A balance of trend and wearability: low-waisted flared trousers, chic trench coats, denim-on-denim, and cheetah print galore. The looks were a marriage between fall staples and edgy street style, and I, for one, cannot wait to see them on my midnight Target runs.

Target cracked the code on NYFW, creating an unforgettable evening on the High Line. All the elements came together in a celebration of how fashion fits into real life (pickle sticks and all).
