Sponsored: Join The American Heart Association’s Support Network Today!

This is a sponsored post in collaboration with the American Heart Association; all opinions are entirely my own.

Being someone who dealt with a heart issue as a young adult, I felt it was important for me to share with you all the American Heart Association’s Support Network. This online network provides human connection, health and emotional resources for caregivers and survivors of heart disease and stroke. The network supports both survivors and/or caregivers of heart disease, stroke, emotional well-being, atrial fibrillation, venous thromboembolism, peripheral artery disease (PAD), congenital heart defects amongst other things as well.

I personally joined the American Heart Association’s Support Network, for a number of reasons. On the network, I’m able to connect with people who have had similar situations growing up or have kids with issues. They can calm me down and lift my spirits up at the same time. My best friend and grandmother had her first pacemaker installed last year and I had no idea what that meant. All I knew was that it was for her heart and that it would help her not be in pain. The other big reason I joined the network myself was just three years ago I suffered my own heart attack

With an estimated 117K members, the Support Network is an online social network made up of people just like you: survivors, caregivers, family members and friends whose lives have been changed by cardiovascular diseases or stroke. A place you can share experiences, offer guidance, provide support during challenging times, share your health story and ask questions. And because it is a home, a community of like-minded members, they take care of your heart and mind.

On the site, I encourage you to engage, inform and support.

• Learn more about your heart condition have a conversation with others just like you, while you get emotional support.
