SPINALL Hosts Exclusive ‘Èkó Groove’ Listening Party in NYC

On Thursday, August 7th, Nigerian-bred SPINALL hosted an exclusive album release party for his upcoming project: ‘Èkó Groove’ in Chelsea.

Powered by Epic Records, the room was replete with an eclectic spread of tastemakers, influencers and culture shifters who all came out to indulge the alchemy of SPINALL’s evolution as not only a DJ but as a full-fledged artist.

Hosted by rising culture visionary Petah Jay, SPINALL took his signature residence behind the ones-and-twos to play his EP to an intimate crowd and really breakdown the subtle nuances and general objective behind the project.

“‘Èkó Groove’ is a memorable blend of culture, rhythm, and groove connected to my Lagos roots,” SPINALL said.

Some of the confirmed features on the project include Tyla, Omah Lay, Buju Banton, Summer Walker, Young John and many more.

One of the singles off the project is “One Call,” which features a sultry blend of spirited vocals from fellow Nigerian artist Omah Lay and South African pop star Tyla.

After cultivating six albums, Èkó Groove marks his seventh project and his first since joining Epic. The title of the album stems from the Yoruba word for Lagos, which is a major city in his home country of Nigeria.
