SPiN Celebrates 6 Years in New York City

On Friday night, SPiN, the international network of ping-pong social clubs, celebrated its six year anniversary at their flagship location in New York City with a star-studded party full of great music, drinks, food, and entertainment.

As soon as we stepped into SPiN we immediately noticed that the club had been drastically redesigned since we were there last, into a more open gallery-type space with better lighting, seating, ping-pong tables, and, most noticeably, new art by global graffiti artists which include UR New York, 2Alas, Dasic Fernandez, Jose Aurelio Baez and Okuda.  We next noticed the expanded drink menu, taking advantage of the open bar to try out some seriously tasty cocktails as we played ping-pong.

Rock band CultFever warmed up the crowd before the celebrity live auction and ping-pong tournament began, where amateurs and pros alike bid on prizes and show off their ping-pong skills.

As Co-Founder and actress Susan Sarandon stated, “Our mission continues, which is to create a community and a club for the people, who want to get together to socialize, discover, relax and be surrounded by a great sport.” Ms. Sarandon also expressed, “We hope that everyone sees the space as exciting as it is individual and very special when all the elements are embraced. That’s what we tried to create in our New York City club, a place for the people, by the people.”
