Sophia Amoruso’s Memoir Comes to Life in New Netflix Original Series ‘Girlboss’

The famous rag to riches memoir of Sophia Amoruso, founder of Nasty Gal, just released its Netflix original series.

The series is based on Amoruso’s memoir was written about her not so overnight sensation of becoming a leading boss in her own fashion capital.

The show stars Britt Robertson looking very 1970’s as she get fired from yet another retail job in San Francisco. Just as she feels her life tumbling down, she finds a rare motor jacket that she buys for only $9, that she decides to sell on eBay for triple the price. This is how the story of Nasty Gal unfolds. Up selling vintage clothing is a huge thing in this generation, but Amoruso was one of the first to do so, hence building her own empire.

The show is created by Kay Cannon who is known for Pitch Perfect 3 and New Girl. In the first episode, Sophia had a steamy night with drummer boy, Shane (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World), played by Johnny Simmons who decided to come out of his grave after leaving acting behind for bit to finally make an appearance.

The series is loosely sticking to the memoir making it a little more dramatic for the audience, but if you read the memoir, there won’t be too many surprises.
