On the Scene: Marissa Webb RTW Spring 2017 Collection

This past Thursday, September 8, Marissa Webb debuted her Spring 2017 collection on the runway at New York Fashion Week.

Webb has always found new ways to put a fresh take on those dreamy closet staples every modern woman wants in her closet, and her most recent collection did just that.

One of my favorite details that presented itself throughout the collection were Webb’s use of ruffles, which played a big role in the overall feel. The ruffles added the perfect layer of texture and stood tall under blazers or running down sleeves.

More generally, I especially loved the way Webb incorporated more traditional feminine touches with strong silhouettes to create the perfect power-woman looks. Webb’s pieces would make any woman feel as if she was ready to take on any task or job, and could seamlessly transition from the office to happy hour.

Of course, Webb’s signature army jacket was the star of the show and most certainly did not disappoint. Coming in a close second was Webb’s high-waisted leather cropped pants, which I may just need to add to my wardrobe list of fall must-haves.

Overall, Webb’s collection was a metropolitan woman’s dream; the perfect balance of femininity and structure topped off with just enough attitude and confidence to complete each look that came down the runway.

Special thanks to TRESemmé for the invite!
