On The Scene: JXY n’ Cuso Fall/Winter 2018 Presentation

JXY N'CUSO NEW YORK FASHION WEEK FW18 02/10/2018

Creative duo Jaxon Yang and Nina Cuso presented their debut collection at Pier 59 on Saturday with an eponymous label, JXY n’ Cuso.

The show commenced with a series of intertwined sounds from what seemed to be a child crying to a consuming array of tunes. The models careened down the runway, a balance of traditional pieces were combined with contemporary elements such as structured blazers with tonal beads, shirts with direct embroidery and embellished mesh pieces adorned with piping.

The designers derived inspiration from an unidentified dimension drawing notions from the aura, dreaming, and the unknown elements of this world. They capture this through their earth palette of crimson, navy, porcelain, and black. This ‘unknown’ aspect of the show was translated into the variety of silhouettes and art application techniques. A pattern of infinite interlocked threads and tree branches were a reoccurring motif.

The show included high Jolie slit gowns, cape blazers, commanding leather and accented dresses. A high point in the collection was an elongated dress consisting of flair sleeves in a crisp white color. The well-coordinated notions allowed this piece to distinctly capture the attention of the audience. The garments were complimented by handmade shoes from Angela Mitchell and jewelry from Currency NY.
