The night before Super Bowl 50 was an electrifying one as Maxim, one of the world’s most popular men’s magazines, threw what might have been the party of the year. The star-studded gala took place off the coast of San Francisco at nearby Treasure Island. Maxim partnered with Los Angeles nightclub Bootsy Bellows to throw an event worthy of being on the eve of the big game. A myriad of different cuisine selections and multiple open bars were just the beginning of the extravaganza. There were also two Guinness booths setup with fresh beer on tap throughout the night. The interior of the venue felt like a palace decorated with red carpet and neon lighting all over.
Car giant Dodge was also on hand to provide attendees with some of the most unique party experiences of all time. They setup a Hellcat Challenger car and hooked it up to a large television screen in order to create a virtual reality racing game. Partygoers were allowed to “drive” the car through the simulation as onlookers watched each other struggle with the difficulty of driving such a powerful machine. In addition to the virtual reality component, Dodge also provided guests with actual car rides in their Viper and Hellcat Challenger models. Professional drivers drove attendees through a specialized mini course to show off each of the cars’ top speeds as well as mobility through sharp turns. It was an illustrious showing as the car company’s attractions only built up the overall excitement and festivities.
The night ended with performances from various musical superstars such as ASAP Rocky and Lil Wayne. Wayne performed his hit songs “Truffle Butter” and “6 Foot, 7 Foot” among many others during his set which closed off the night. The event overall had the vibe of a Playboy mansion party meets the San Francisco high life. The decor was futuristically polished and the location of the waterfront venue cemented the party as one to remember for the ages.
The 2016 Maxim Party was produced by Karma International with Bootsy Bellows. Pernod Ricard served as the exclusive spirit provider of The 2016 Maxim Party providing specialty drinks made with Absolut Elyx, Avion Tequila and Perrier Jouet Champagne. Guinness had a custom “Gig Rig” draught truck on the property with premium Guinness beer served nostalgically on tap. Triumph, a premium lifestyle motorcycle brand based in the UK, had several of their newest Bonneville family of motorcycles on display with an interactive photo activation for guest enjoyment. Will Day powered by Isplack had a live painting activation, Red Bull provided energy drinks, Michael Costello dressed all of the models, Core Hydration supplied water, John Varvatos had their own VIP green room for celebrities, and Jet Smarter was among one of the other top-tier sponsors. For those who couldn’t attend the party – were able to tune in to a live broadcast of behind the scenes action by Torio TV (www.Torio.tv).
