Santigold treated her fans to a free Black Friday deal of a new music video.
The video for “Who Be Lovin’ Me” ft. ILOVEMAKONNEN features the two boasting to each other about all their admirers around the world. The track comes off Santigold’s third album 99 Cents.
In a statement producer of the track Zeds Dead said the record came together very naturally between the three of them. Santigold and Trouble Andrew directed the film at this year’s Made in America in Philadelphia. The video features several artists at the festival including A-Trak, Big Sean, De La Soul, DJ Mustard, Earl Sweatshirt, Fabolous, Justine Skye, Meek Mill and Vic Mensa.
“Who be Lovin’ Me” is available at all digital detailers. 99 Cents is now available for pre-order with an instant download of the new track. In the new album, Santigold explores the idea of everything in society being packaged. The theme is exemplified in the the cover art of her packaged up with several other random products. In a statement Santigold said, “We have no illusion that we don’t live in this world where everything is packaged. People’s lives, persona, everything, is deliberate, and mediated. It can be dark and haunting and tricky, and freak us out, but it can be also be silly and fun and we can learn to play with it.”
