On The Scene: Samsung Kicks off its ‘Made for Summer’ Campaign

What comes to mind when you think of summertime?

Maybe pools, beaches, vacations, relaxing, heat, fun moments etc. What one doesn’t really think about is how to really capture these moments. That’s where Samsung comes in. They recently took the tech world by storm with their Galaxy S8 which makes a lot of the living everyone does simpler.

Samsung is launching a campaign “Made For Summer”, showcasing all the reasons why this is the phone to be sporting all summer ’17. The launch party was held in their Samsung 837 space in the Meatpacking district, where there were phones lined across the rooms to display the clarity of their screens. Samsung’s mission was to show potential new users all the amazing things the phone could do at a press event, they hosted Thursday night. Andy Cohen and Jeremy Jauncey spoke on a panel, vouching for the phone’s overall quality. The two bounced back and forth about how this phone is useful in a variety of situations.

These phones are merely water resistant not water proof, so although you could drop it in the tub and it would be fine, it shouldn’t be in water for too long. There is also a helpful app embed in the phone called Bixby, that allows for traveling to become extremely easy. It translates languages simply from a picture. Bixby is the virtual intelligence assistant that is a part of the phone. So, for a traveler who may be a little clumsy and enjoys taking photos, this is the phone to have.

Other parts of this event promoted the phone’s newest additions in the most amazing way. Virtual reality goggles were present to test out using an app on the phone to access this tester mode. On the outdoor terrace, there were phones submerged in water for over an hour that still functioned perfectly. Samsung encouraged users to check out the phones to test their capabilities hands on by taking photos and setting up their networks.

After all the fun Sam Hunt preformed kicking off their summer concert series, for all those who were invited and a small crowd of his fans in the Samsung Galaxy studio downstairs.  Sam performed hits like “Body Like a Back Road,” “House Party,” and “Break Up in a Small Town” as the crowd sang along and enjoyed wine varietals from Kim Crawford Wines. Overall, Samsung hosted a fun and informative event.
