On The Scene: Sammie ‘Coming of Age’ Listening Party

If you weren’t already aware R&B Veteran “Sammie” is back and is now signed to Empire Records.

After releasing his self acclaimed EP I’m Him in 2016 fans both old and new have been heavily anticipating a full length project from him. Tastemakers, execs and even some fans gathered together in New York at the 40/40 club to attend an initial listening to Sammie’s new album entitled Coming Of Age. The listening party was hosted by NY’s own Yandy Smith who expressed her gratitude for Sammie stating: “I appreciate you, there are so many of women who wear capes and don’t feel appreciated and I want to say I appreciate you for recognizing that.”

The listening was also presented by The Shaderoom whom Sammie expressed help put him back on the map after an Instagram post of himself went viral. He also explained his reason for the hiatus and says that he found God who is the biggest treasure in life.

The now 30 year old singer comes back and introduces the world to his transition from young boy to grown man. Coming Of Age features his single “Bad Gal,” a collaboration with Rick Ross entitled “Good life” as well as “Show and Tell” featuring Eric Bellinger. After hearing a couple of songs and watching a snippet of his self entitled documentary Sammie proves that his comeback is guaranteed and well respected. Sammie ended the night with special thanks to his label Empire, singer Tank (who was also present and sings alongside with him on the current Savage Tour) and to all the fans who have stuck by and believed in him.
