Emmys, Emmys, all I want are Emmys! The stars of RuPaul‘s Drag Race Season 16 were aligned on the rooftop of a swank West Hollywood bar for a night of rollerskating and celebration.
All our faves were there – Mirage, Dawn, Mhi’ya Iman LePaige, Q, Amanda Tori Meating – I guess I’m just naming the entire cast. Not only did we get to watch these queens rollerskate the night away, but we retreated to libations, sushi, burgers, and bruschetta.
RuPaul DJ’d the night away as I debated picking up skate shoes. She played a mix of House, hip-hop soul, and Patti LaBelle. Patti gets her category.
She looked positively blissful, smiling at skaters and doing the Watusi. She played for hours and we were all starstruck and couldn’t stop twerking against the guard rail.
My boyfriend and I played cornhole and ate churros and hot dogs while we waited for photo ops with the queens. I lost badly, as I often do! Damn, I guess we ate a lot.

We got our pics, danced our dances, and cooled out on the patio before grabbing a photo app.
After 16 seasons, Drag Race is still going strong, with incredibly strong ratings and, of course, one million Emmy nominations.
This carefree, joyful party was the perfect way to celebrate the success of TV’s most popular queer show. I can’t get enough – I’ve watched all the international versions. I have seen every episode in every territory. Lol.
