Rihanna To Be Honored at The New School’s 69th Annual Benefit

This year, The New School will host their 69th Annual Benefit in honor of hit-singer and songwriter, Rihanna, on  at Pier Sixty, New York. 

The fashion icon will be celebrated for her efforts to promote female empowerment and expression through her music and fashion. Through her music and powerful presence, Rihanna has inspired millions.

Rihanna has been a proud supporter of The New School by donning designs and fashion lines from recent alumni. She also works directly with The New School’s philanthropic endeavors and programs, by creating the Clara Lionel Foundation dedicated to educational reformation to support the dreams of young people everywhere.

“It’s such a thrill to know that a design school as prestigious as Parsons School of Design would present me with this honor,” says Rihanna.

The New School Benefit is held to raise funds for the next generation of artists, fashion designers, and creatives alike. Through the generosity of donors, all proceeds go to support aspiring students and programs through the Clara Lionel Foundation and Parsons.

The Barbados-born singer has been seen on multiple red carpets and social events dressed in a multitude of creations from former students and graduates.

Rihanna will be following in the footsteps of Eileen Fisher and the Neiman Marcus Group who have also received the same prestigious honor.

“I am especially grateful that Parsons would recognize me for the work I’ve done in regards to philanthropy,” says Rihanna.
