On The Scene: Rence Headlines Baby’s All Right

Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right hosted a series of performances on the 24th that concluded with a packed jam session with recent NYU graduate, Rence. Known for his lead single “Baby Blue.”

The new addition to Epic Records opened his set with the old school feels record, followed by a few singles like “Space For You” and “Ways To Go;” as well as some unreleased tracks such as “Patience” and a cover of T-Pain’s “Bartender.”

Jamming under LED lit clouds in an all white outfit covered in paint matching the colors on his nails, Rence and his team was able to create a unique aesthetic that compliments his music and this generation. Placing his audience on cloud nine as they moved and bopped effortlessly to each song, Rence adds to performing what many can’t. His emotional, “it is what it is” lyrics and raspy voice creates music for millennials (by a millennial) who knows how to grind and love hard with an undeniably old soul.

Noah Cyrus compliments Rence’s style, adding a bit more angst on the single, “Expensive” and to the video which dropped the day after this performance (on the 25th). Rocking sweatpants and a crop top, Cyrus performed the duet shrugging off the fact that her mic wasn’t working and embraced Rence at the songs finish before running off stage.

Be on the look out for Rence’s upcoming EP and continue streaming his music available everywhere. Keep up with Rence on social media @Rence.
