Remi Wolf Celebrates Her New Single “Liquor Store” With A Knock-Out Show

Against the backdrop of a Brooklyn skyline on a rooftop bar called Elsewhere, Remi Wolf brings non-stop chaotic energy and excitement to the stage.

After not performing in front of people during the pandemic, it was good to see her jumping back into things without looking down. The whole crowd was loud, happy, and having a really good time: everyone was singing along (and in some cases shouting along) to every single word.

Remi Wolf’s style is funky, pop-y, and very in-your-face, all in the best ways. She describes her music to be “funky soul pop” but that she also doesn’t necessarily stick with labels. Remi wants her music to be enjoyed while dancing, cooking, or just vibing. Her music includes songs that talk of mental illness, heartbreak, and just feeling all of the things at once; Woo! is considered her ADHD anthem and Bad Behavior centers around her feeling like she is the bad behavior and the effects that feeling can have on a relationship. Her newest song, Liquor Store, is about overcoming a drug/alcohol addiction and co-dependency amidst the pandemic, and the struggles and triumphs that come with getting sober. Remi is unafraid to write about the things that can be depressing or overwhelming, as it’s what she has been going through, and it’s something that others can relate to and feel comforted that someone else understands.

Remi has a very close relationship with her audience, getting everyone to sing the various harmonies in her songs with her, cracking jokes and laughing with the crowd. She put on a riot of a set that was sure to be heard across Brooklyn; not that anyone could be mad at that, considering her voice is incredibly wonderful to listen to! Her bright, effervescent vocals go amazing with her bandmates’ epic playing; you can clearly see how well they all vibe together onstage.

For background, Remi was born in 1996 and is an American artist from California. She was a contestant on American Idol in her senior year of high school and graduated from USC Thornton School of Music in 2018. A year after that, she released her first album “You’re A Dog!”, followed by her second album “I’m Allergic to Dogs!” which featured the song that made waves in social media, “Photo ID”. Her newest single, “Liquor Store,” just released a few days ago on July 20th, the music video on July 22nd, and will be on her newest album coming out in the fall.

Remi Wolf’s newest single, Liquor Store, is out now on various streaming services and we’re all looking forward to her album coming out in the fall.
