Q-Tip, Pusha T, Desiigner, and Melly Mel Beat the Heat on Day Three of the BACARDÍ x Dean Collection: No Commission Art Performs

After a series of ‘heat advisory’ emails and start-time updates, the sweat was all worth it in the end to see Q-Tip, Pusha T, Desiigner, and Melly Mel.

Going since Thursday, August 11th, the fun ensued in the Bronx on Saturday as the crowd came out again for Day Three of Swizz Beatz’ No Commission Art and Music fair. Along with BACARDÍ, these two partnered up bring new exposure into the art world, therefore giving new meaning to an ‘Artsy Event’.

With outdoor temperatures still high above norms, Bronx native, Swizz Beatz and another awesome line-up of Hip Hop performers braved the advisories. Folks looked cool, and stayed cool with an endless supply of iced BACARDÍ cocktails, full off of the variety of food trucks, and entertained while checking out the view of the Art Performs stage from the top of the Ferris wheel – topping off the experience. And while it was packed in front of the stage, the line to the Gallery trailed a good distance from the entrance door; event goers were eager to take in the Dean Collection of art-filled walls by a plethora of amazing artists & curators, which was an entirely different experience.

Art lovers came to support as more deals were closed on Day Three.  Marcus Jahmal, who sold one of his pieces on Saturday told The Knockturnal, “It feels good to get recognized, especially in a room full of so much talent. It’s been a long time coming.” Swizz Beatz and Bacardi are definite innovators as they have created such an opportunity for these artists, and have collected ‘no commission’ of proceeds made. Their movement does far more than amaze and entertain.
