This week in New York City, IMAX, Mercury Studios, FilmRise, and Paisley Park Enterprises hosted an exclusive advance screening of the newly remastered concert film, Prince: Sign O’ The Times, at the AMC Kips Bay 15 IMAX theaters.
Loud applause was showcased from a starry audience who were lucky enough to be at the special screening before the one-week-only global IMAX release beginning August 29.
The evening kicked off with a purple carpet photo call at the theatre, where attendees posed in front of a vibrant floral step-and-repeat and shared reflections on Prince’s legacy before heading downtown for an afterparty at Jean’s, transformed into a lively Prince-themed celebration.
Notable attendees included Spike Lee, Taye Diggs, Luann de Lesseps, Don Lemon, Dianne Brill, Amir Arison, and Genevieve Gorder, who joined artists and musicians such as members of Interpol, Eugene Hutz (Gogo Bordello), Blu DeTiger, and Emmett Skye, along with designers and cultural figures, in honoring Prince’s artistry. Guests sipped signature purple cocktails while DJs AKU (Florence & The Machine), The Muses, Rex DeTiger, and a surprise live tribute performance kept the energy high well into the night.
