Poppy Delevigne, Rachel Zoe Celebrate Project ZERO’s ‘Life Under the Waves” at West Hollywood’s EDITION Hotel

The non-profit Project ZERO took over West Hollywood EDITION’s event space, club, and dining room for an evening designed to bring attention to the ocean-conservatory effort.

It made perfect sense for EDITION to play host to Project ZERO’s initiative- a global movement supported by renowned scientists, business leaders, campaigners, culture-makers and ocean experts, who are all working together to awaken the fight for the ocean.

The hotel has been designed with nature in mind from the beginning, opting for sustainable materials throughout the space and a modern luxury concept throughout, where careful consideration for every detail has been made.

With a lush curated overgrowth in the entry court and valet, enormous entry doors open to reveal a refined greeting space, a comfortable lobby bar that flows to a relaxing backyard. Project ZERO took over an upper corner of the lobby for a cocktail hour, before guests such as Tyrone Wood watched the latest Project ZERO campaign video, featuring Kate Moss, Will Poulter, and others, in the large screening room at EDITION.

The earth-conscious theme continues to Ardor, the hotel’s restaurant run by John Fraser. Inspiring thoughts of a robust jungle, the indoor-outdoor concept is dripping in rich plant life of ferns, palms, and banana leaf. The plant-forward menu is oriented toward sustainability, and the VIP dinner menu included everything from a deconstructed brussels sprouts and tandoor carrots to a delicate beet petal entree and sweet potato curry. Guests including Pixie Geldof and James Jagger enjoyed vegan chocolate ganache and a full bar.

After the multi-course dinner, guests enjoyed a walk around to the West Hollywood EDITION’s basement, through greenery and sculptures on the property, which sits on the corner Sunset Boulevard. and Doheny Drive- truly the midpoint between West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Given its prized location, EDITION has over 6,500 square feet of event area- from screening rooms to bars, including rooftop accommodations with infinite views of LA, which were put to good use during EDITION’s heavy opening-week schedule which included visits from countless A-listers. The hotel has only 140 rooms and a mere twenty residences, allowing for a rare intimacy that is almost impossible to find in LA.

In the basement is EDITION’s own club, the charming and beautifully intimate Sunset, with a bar, table service, and what felt like a thousand disco balls suspended above a dance floor. Guests enjoyed an after-party into the wee hours, with Beastie Boy’s Mike D spinning a disco-infused set alongside Tito Cruz and Public Xcess.
