OWN Premieres Fall 2020 Unscripted Shows

This fall, other than sipping pumpkin spice lattes and apple picking, you might want to tune into OWN. The network has several unscripted shows premiering just before cuffing season begins and we find ourselves all cuddled up on the couch.

“Ready to Love,” hosted by Thomas “Nephew Tommy” Miles and produced by Will Packer brings together young Black singles looking for that special somebody. The catch? This time they are bound to a resort secluded from the outside world.

Producer Will Packer says there is nothing else like it on television. “There is no show like this where you see grown African American singles having an opportunity to be their true, authentic selves.”

Another hot series gracing the OWN Screen is “Put A Ring On It.” The new series follows several serious couples that have dated for quite some time but have yet to move on to next steps. Throughout the series, the couples are put to the test, dating other singles to see if their relationship is truly ready for commitment.

Dr. Nicole LaBeach is a relationship expert who also picks dates for these conflicted couples. “I think you’re always kind of nervous about how people will deal with the unexpected. But the thing that I do is the same thing that I try to do with couples when I’m working with them individually. I hold a space for what they are trying to achieve and accomplish and then I let them do their work.”

A veteran series “Iyanla: Fix My Life” returns with a number of families and couples seeking counseling from inspirational speaker Iyanla Vanzant. Vanzant’s worked with families for many years, yet she says it’s a higher calling that continuously inspires her. “This is my purpose. Now I don’t question why the divine chose me to put it in front of a camera. When God gives you something to do, you can’t just do the easy part you like, you have to do it all.”

One series that’s expected to attract a lot of viewers is “Behind Every Man.” The new docuseries follows the women connected to successful artists like Ne-Yo, Usher, Wyclef Jean and many more. It’s a timely series, as this show recognizes and applauds Black women, from mothers to wives, who are often the support, guidance and inspiration behind some of the biggest artists today.

Definitely tune into OWN this fall to catch the series destined to heat up your couch. “Ready For Love” and “Put A Ring On It” premiere October 23rd. The new season of “Iyanla: Fix My Life” premieres on October 31st and “Behind Every Man” premieres on November 7th.
