Bradley Theodore in Otte x High Line Hotel Artists’ Series

Bradley Theodore and Otte boutique took over the stunning High Line Hotel Refectory Space during NYFW to celebrate the week and Theodore’s ambitious works on February 14th, 2016.

Bradley Theodore makes very luxurious art, in two regards. One, it’s fleeting. Bradley is known to paint on humans, which is eventually washed away. Two, it’s rare. In his works on canvas, he depicts luxury goods, celebrities, and more. The works themselves are rare things, too, as he paints regularly but not frequently. One should jump at the chance to view Theodore’s work in a collective; and even more so to witness his technique live. Theodore uses black backgrounds and neon shades to fill out the works, with liberal use of white to keep contrast. It’s as if there’s a light shining down on them at all times, highlighting the subject. Alas, Otte, the NYC boutique, brought out some chic guests to enjoy complimentary beverages and see some of Theodore’s works including a painted parody Newsweek cover that says ‘DVFweek’ and a portrait of the designers, and more. He’s protective of the works, which makes it all that much more exciting. Hopefully you’ll be able to catch him.
