Oscar Nominee Spotlight at Academy Museum

Oscar nominees in the Makeup and Hairstyling category discussed their nominated works at the annual Makeup and Hair Symposium.

Insight into their creative processes and how they work with actors, production designers and directors to bring memorable characters to life made for a brilliant event at The Academy Museum on March 15.

Nominees who spoke on panels included: Cliona Furey, Mike Hill, and Jordan Samuel, Frankenstein; Ken Diaz, Mike Fontaine, and Shunika Terry, SinnersKyoko Toyokawa, Naomi Hibino, and Tadashi Nishimatsu, Kokuho; Kazu Hiro, Glen Griffin, and Bjoern Rehbein, The Smashing Machine and Thomas Foldberg and Anne Cathrine Sauerberg, The Ugly Stepsister.

On the same day, attendees got a chance to see the work up close and personal in the Sidney Poitier Grand Lobby. An array of production materials from the nominated films, including concept sketches and character maquettes were on display.
