The whiskey brand ‘Orphan Barrel‘ launched a limited edition 18-year-old Straight Bourbon Whiskey and hosted a tasting event in NYC.

The evening consisted of light bites and curated cocktails, followed by a tasting experience starring Indigo’s Hour, a whiskey made just once with [highly] limited quantities. Indigo’s Hour pays homage to the heartlands of America’s Whiskey regions while drawing inspiration from nature’s most enchanting transitions.

Much like the butterfly depicted on the bottle label, Indigo’s Hour experiences its metamorphosis as its liquid journeys from distillation in Indiana to production in Kentucky to bottling in Tennessee – resulting in a carefully crafted American bourbon, taking 18 years in total for production. Indigo’s Hour is part of Orphan Barrel’s coveted line-up of luxury liquids hidden in the dark corners of distilleries and rick houses worldwide. The fleeting nature of this limited-edition liquid makes it a timely collectible for those who treasure rare whiskies.

The tasting event included a hands-on experience and a breakdown of the mash bill used to create the whiskey. The mash bill consists of corn (68%), rye (28%), and malt (4%.) Each ingredient came in a small bottle with a mini syringe for guests to get a better smell of each ingredient.
