For the first time One Africa Music Fest is coming to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
One Africa Music Fest is a celebration of Africa’s finest and established musicians. It aims at celebrating African artists on a global level, providing them the platform and connecting them to their fans in the United States of America. Hosted by Africa’s R&B King Banky W. the Festival will take place Friday, July 22, at 7:00pm.
The Festival will be truly a one-of-a-kind event featuring Africa’s biggest musical stars such as BET Award winner Wizkid, who can currently be heard on Drake’s “One Dance.” International stars Davido, Ghanaian afropop, dancehall and reggae artist Stonebwoy, East Africa’s Diamond Platnumz, Nigerian artists – Flavour, Tiwa Savage, Iyanya, and Banky W will also grace the stage performing their hit singles.
“After storming the music trends in Africa and Europe, I felt the timing was right to put Afrobeats and Afropop on the main stage in the U.S. It’s slowly been hitting the underground scene for a while, but with the current collaborations with artists like Drake, Meek Mill, Wale, and Future, amongst others. We just had to do it.” says Paul O, Ceo Upfront and Personal (the organizers of the event).
