The Knockturnal was on the scene for the pre-reception of sports drama ’12 Mighty Orphans’ on June 14 during the Tribeca Film Festival.
A rainy day turned into a perfect evening for the event held at The Crown rooftop lounge with panoramic views of New York City.
Vinessa Shaw, who plays Juanita Russell in the film, was in attendance and looked chic in an all-black ensemble. The film’s star Luke Wilson was expected to attend but unfortunately was a no-show.
As people walked the red carpet, sipped specialty Grey Goose cocktails, ate lobster rolls and dumplings, and socialized with one another, DJ Talon Reid kept the crowd pumped with his tunes.
12 Mighty Orphans is set during the Great Depression. Rusty Russell, played by Luke Wilson, is the coach of a football team at an orphanage in Fort Worth, Texas. The orphans go on the become champions, as well as an inspiration to their city, state, and the entire nation.
The film also stars Hollywood legends, Martin Sheen and Robert Duvall.
